In response to the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic in South Africa Event Organisers, Stillwater Sports have announced that the 2020 Savanna Origin of Trails MTB Experience has moved to Autumn 2021 with SA’s MTB Party of the Year taking place on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 April 2021! Entries open on Tuesday 20 October 2020.
“We are excited to host SA’s MTB Party of the Year in Autumn 2021. In addition to the new date, the Savanna Origin of Trails MTB Experience will also welcome the Stellenbosch High School as its new Race Village. Both stages will start and finish at the school,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director Stillwater Sports.
“Our Route Designers have been working around the clock to identify the most exciting and scenic routes on offer,” continues Meyer. “Entrants can look forward to new additions that are guaranteed to get the heart-rate pumping, while golden oldies such as G-Spot and Bartinney’s Skyfall (to mention just a few) will still feature. We’re excited to host the event in Autumn, the milder weather conditions and spectacular Autumn colours are sure to add to the experience. We cannot wait to welcome riders to the Savanna Origin of Trails MTB Experience.”

Affectionately dubbed “SA’s MTB Party of the year”, the Savanna Origin of Trails MTB Experience is an individual 2-day MTB Stage Race. The routes highlight the beauty and splendor of Stellenbosch, and mountain bikers can look forward to experiencing a vast network of world-class trails while celebrating the origin of SA mountain biking.
