Sigma Connected SA celebrates Level 1 B-BBEE compliance certification

1 September 2021 by Con Tributor

A Western Cape based business outsourcing provider has been awarded a top compliance standard by the country’s Government for its work to support people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Sigma Connected, an award-winning outsourced contact centre solutions business in Diep River, has been awarded the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) New Compliance Certification – Level 1.

The company, which offers ‘white label’ customer contact centre services across South Africa’s public sector, telecommunications, retail and financial services sectors, has been awarded the certification after an extensive audit for its focus on employment equality, work in the community, fighting youth unemployment and reaching out to disadvantaged groups.

Its work to champion and celebrate women in the workplace was also commended as part of the two-year process for Sigma working towards Level 1.
Justus Fourie, CFO at Sigma Connected South Africa said: “We are a company which has grown rapidly in the past 12 months and we have shown at every stage how much we believe in transformation, inclusivity and South Africa’s overall progress.

“To be awarded this top status is testament to the hard work of our team but also mirrors several years of work to be recognised as an employer of choice by linking closely with different communities and providing meaningful and long-term job opportunities.

“The work and our commitment does not stop here. We will continue to focus strongly on supporting young people and the stars of tomorrow, opposing poverty, and doing everything we can to add more jobs from the whole cross section of the community in Western Cape and Johannesburg.
“It is a massive achievement and a really proud moment for us.”

Candice Oliver, Operations Director at Sigma Connected South Africa said: “Sigma Connected South Africa is committed to a B-BBEE strategy that is aimed at nurturing a sustainable transformation environment for our employees, clients and stakeholders. We aim at always contributing in a positive and responsible manner to the wider objectives of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment and it is so gratifying to see favor for businesses like ours.”

Sigma Connected will now be audited each year to ensure they are maintaining the standards required by the Government.
