Breast Cancer Screening Invite

Inspired by Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Cape Town Gin & Spirits Company is offering FREE Breast Cancer screenings at The Gin Emporium at Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront from the 25th to the 27th of October, between 10am and 6pm. No bookings are required, and it only takes 5 minutes for you to have your breast health checked.

And in honour of this important cause, we have the perfect pink cocktail recipe – the Sugar and Spice. This delicious treat is a Cape Town Pink Lady Gin special, boldly combining a kick of spice with just a little something to satisfy the sweet tooth. It is the perfect drink to share with friends and to share the important message behind the fight against breast cancer.

Plus, by trying out this recipe you would also be contributing to the cause, as the Cape Town Pink Lady Gin is in partnership with PinkDrive, a health sector NGO that highlights the importance of early detection of breast, cervical and prostate cancer in saving lives. For every bottle of Cape Town Pink Lady Gin sold, a portion of the proceeds goes towards this NGO and their amazing work.

Drink pink this month with this bold cocktail: Sugar and Spice

Ingredients:

50ml Cape Town Pink Lady Gin
50ml Cape Town Classic Dry Gin
50ml Red Vermouth
20ml Lemongrass syrup
100ml Indian tonic
2 Red birds-eye chillies
2 Lime slices
Ice

Method:

Cut the two chillies into the Cape Town Classic Dry Gin, seal air-tight and leave to infuse overnight. Combine the Cape Town Pink Lady Gin, vermouth and syrups in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well for 15 seconds. Strain the mixture into a tall glass over ice, add a teaspoon of the chilli-infusion and stir gently. Garnish with lime.
