Sophie B – All the way from Rio and Towed in

Pat van Eyssen, NSRI Table Bay duty coxswain, said:

At 17h15, Tuesday, 07th March, NSRI Table Bay duty crew launched the Sea Rescue craft Spirit of Vodacom to assist the yacht Sophie B, with 3 crew onboard, reportedly returning from Rio de Janiero, from the Cape to Rio Yacht Race 2017, and suffering motor mechanical failure required a tow into Port.

The yacht was towed into Port by our sea rescue craft without incident and safely berthed and no further assistance was required.
