Suspects Arrested for the Possession of Car Breaking Implements

WESTERN CAPE – The vigilance of members of Maitland Flying Squad landed two suspects behind bars for the possession of electronic jamming devices and the possession of car breaking implements on Thursday, 11 June 2026.

The members received information about a vehicle with two occupants that is driving in parking areas at shopping malls and other parking areas in the Bellville area and responded. The vehicle was stopped and searched in Maree Street, Oakdale, and two jamming devices and vehicle braking implements were found inside the vehicle and seized. Two suspects aged 32 and 48 were arrested. The vehicle they were driving was handed back to the car rental company.

The suspects are due to appear in the Bellville Magistrates’ Court once they have been charged.
