Promising Cape Town-born and aspiring young professional photographer Taleah Meshaé is set to take South Africa by storm with the release of her very own fashion editorial next month.

Up-and-coming fashionista and self-developed 17-year-old photographer, Taleah Meshaé, is ready and set to launch her very own fashion lookbook, entitled “BORN”.

“BORN” came out of the desire to showcase her photographic skill developed during her numerous photoshoots completed on location in Cape Town, South Africa earlier this year.

When asked about her aspirations for the editorial, Taleah, who hails from West Beach, Blouberg, says her desire to showcase and reflect her “deep intrigue and passion for the camera lens”, is what she’s wanting to share with the world.

“This photographic editorial was first thought up and future conceptualized and developed as part of her Scholarship application to study Fashion and Creative Directing at renowned Parsons University in New York City. One of the prerequisites of the scholarship was for her to put together a fashion editorial as her portfolio of evidence featuring her very own photography,” says Taleah.

For Taleah, photography started merely as a hobby at first, after having received her first Canon camera as birthday gift a few years ago.

Taleah started photographing a few of her close friends and it was during this time that Taleah started realizing how much she enjoyed photography. During this time her hard work and efforts started being recognized and Taleah’s photography received numerous compliments via different social media mediums.

“It was then that the flame within me ignited and I found myself being drawn into the world of professional photography,” says Taleah.

She then decided to invite model look-a-like friends and offered them free photo shoots at the various locations. She did this for just over a year and soon after was being booked regularly for events by family and friends.

In addition to the camera lens being a passion for this young photographer, Taleah has a soft heart and wanted to contribute and give back to her community. Out of this commitment she has established the Taleah Meshaé Movement.

“This passion project aims to empower and inspire young girls across all cultural norms to be confident strong independent women” says Taleah.

Taleah’s intention is to host various workshops for girls from disadvantaged and underprivileged backgrounds as well as young girls who’s confidence suffers with “beauty and body issues”. Taleah hopes to partner with these girls and to help empower, guide and coach them back to being strong confident and beautiful South African women they were born to be.

This dynamic, young, inspiring photographer is also set to host a Charity Golf Day scheduled for the 17th of November 2017. This event sees a collaborative effort with the Blue Collar Foundation and Jimmy Nevis, prior to her launch.

Earlier this year, Taleah travelled to Los Angeles and shot for some international fashion designers and models. The hard work and efforts from her US trip, will appear in the second issue of her editorial – which is already in the final stages of production.

With upcapped vision, strong passion and respect for the camera lens and her deep desire to live and lead a purpose driven life, this young photographer is set to capture the world one photograph at a time.
