Thousands of solar panel geysers not delivered to people of Matzikama

4 July 2022 by Alan

Dear Editor

The DA discovered 2 000 solar panel geysers in a storeroom in Maskamsig last week. The geysers were received in 2021 by the ANC coalition, who governed the Matzikama municipality during this period, and were never handed over to residents.

The national government handed over these geysers to the municipality early last year, but no attempt was made to install the geysers. In addition, there is currently a dispute between the national government and the supplier.

These geysers are earmarked for beneficiary residents of Vanrhynsdorp and Klawer, and like the rest of South Africa, these residents are also suffering from loadshedding. If the ANC government had done their job and made sure the solar panel geysers were installed last year, the people would have had hot water every day.

The residents of Vanrhynsdorp must make sure that the ANC and its partners do not come to power again in Matzikama. They will only disappoint us again.

On Wednesday, 6 July 2022, there will be a by-election in ward 7, Vanrhynsdorp, and voters will have the opportunity to vote for Kito Boks, of the DA.

Kito undertakes to bring good service delivery to Vanrhynsdorp and to make sure that these 2 000 geysers are dusted off and that installation will start within three months.

Regards

Kito Boks
DA-kanditaat, Wyk 7, Matzikama
