WESTERN CAPE – A 28-year-old male suspect from Eastridge is in police custody after members attached to Operation Prosper discovered 22 units of Stilpane syrup and cash in his residence.
Upon following up on information received at approximately 17:15 on Sunday,13 September, the members arrived at the aforesaid address and conducted a search in which they found the syrups and money. This lengthy pursuit resulted to an arrest of the suspect for contravention of the medicine control act, he is expected to appear at Wynberg Magistrate’s Court today (Tuesday, 15 September 2026.)
In a separate incident, Operation Lockdown III members arrested two suspects in different occurrences for possession of drugs. An intelligence driven operation led them to Coronation Street, Heinz Park where a 32-year-old female suspect was found with 50 sachets of tik, which resulted to her arrest and detention at Samora Machel SAPS . She will appear in Athlone Magistrate’s Court once she has been charged.
Meanwhile, during a stop and search operation, a 36-year-old male suspect was apprehended after he was found with 10 mandrax tablets in his pockets. He will appear at Goodwood Magistrate’s Court once charged.
