True Clean Explains Why Flea Control Goes Beyond the Pet

27 October 2026 by CapeTownNewsReader

Gqeberha: A dog’s favourite patch of grass can be as useful to a flea-control enquiry as its bed indoors. True Clean is explaining why its work at a property starts with asking where the animals spend their time, and why the pet and the home need separate attention.

Diederik Visser, who handles pest control at the Gqeberha business, looks at animal bedding and asks where dogs lie for long periods. Outside, flattened grass or a dug-out resting place can help identify areas to assess. Indoors, the enquiry can extend beyond the room where the household first noticed the problem.

The distinction matters when arranging the work. True Clean treats the property. Owners arrange suitable flea treatment for their cats and dogs separately with their vet. Treating the floor while leaving the animals untreated leaves part of the problem unaddressed, according to the company’s service guidance.

The property work can include floor areas throughout the house, under beds and beneath loose rugs where access allows. Outdoor resting places also need considering. The areas proposed for treatment depend on the property, the affected surfaces and the products suitable for the work.

For households preparing for a visit, Visser asks for toys and unnecessary loose items to be picked up from the floor. The aim is to make the affected areas accessible. It does not mean automatically emptying every room or moving everything in the house.

The return visit is another part of the plan that can be overlooked once the first treatment brings some relief. True Clean plans a seven-day follow-up for flea work. More fleas can emerge after the initial visit, so an early improvement does not mean the planned return should be dropped.

The first treatment and follow-up are priced separately, with the scope and both prices confirmed before the work. The company does not present the fastest results from individual jobs as a clearance promise for every home.

Households also need to mention any carpet cleaning they are arranging. Cleaning and pest treatment should be planned together so that work on a treated floor happens at the appropriate stage. Instructions for cleaning and for people and pets returning to treated areas depend on the treatment used at that property.

For an initial enquiry, the useful details are practical: which rooms are affected, where the animals sleep and rest, and whether cleaning is also needed. Those details help establish a plan that accounts for the animals, the indoor floor areas and the places outside where they spend time.
