Vodacom URC Grand Final at DHL Stadium sold out

17 June 2022 by Alan

The Vodacom United Rugby Championship Grand Final between the DHL Stormers and the Vodacom Bulls will be played in front of a maximum allowed capacity crowd of 31 000 after tickets sold out on Thursday.

The last 6 000 tickets sold in two hours on Thursday ahead of the showpiece match between the two traditional rivals, which kicks off at 19h30 on Saturday.

Given the large crowd attending and the wet weather expected spectators are urged to get to DHL Stadium by at least 18h00, with gates opening at 16h30 – three hours before kick-off.

It is recommended to dress warmly and bring a raincoat, but do not bring an umbrella as they are prohibited and will not be allowed inside the stadium.

Heavy traffic is expected on all routes leading to DHL Stadium with a number of road closures in place and parking will be very limited in the stadium precinct.

In order to avoid the traffic, it would be best to park or be dropped off outside of the stadium precinct and use either the free MyCiTi bus shuttle services or the Fan Walk.

All those with a match ticket will be able to use the MyCiTi shuttle services between the stadium and Thibault Square / Civic Centre Bus Stations free of charge, with the first bus leaving for the stadium at 15h30 and the last bus leaving the stadium at 23h00.

COVID-19 checks remain in place. All those attending must produce either a vaccination certificate or a negative COVID-19 test – rapid antigen test or PCR acceptable from the previous 72 hours, along with their ID before entering the stadium. Every spectator must be checked for this documentation along with their match tickets, so it will take some time to get everyone inside the stadium and it is recommended to arrive at the stadium by 18h00.

Children under 12 do not need to provide any documentation before entering, but all those older than 12 must either have a vaccination certificate or a negative COVID-19 test.

We are very excited to welcome the Faithful to DHL Stadium for this Vodacom United Rugby Championship Grand Final and look forward to enjoying the evening with you cheering our team on in the stands.

Please visit the DHL Stormers website for a comprehensive breakdown of everything you need to know if you are attending the match.
