Weelee Drives Home Victory – Wins Salesforce Automation Ace Award

5 December 2025 by Con Tributor

Weelee, South Africa’s leading transparent used-car platform, proudly announced its victory in the Automation Ace Award category at the prestigious Salesforce Innovation Awards, hosted in Johannesburg on the evening of Thursday, 27 November 2025.

The company was nominated in two highly competitive categories at the awards, including the AI Excellence Trailblazer Award, alongside prominent nominees such as Absa, Discovery, and Lesaka. However, it was their innovative application of technology that secured them the Automation Ace Award over distinguished nominees including Coca-Cola, Hippo.co.za, Powerfleet, and Yoco.

The Automation Ace Award recognises organisations that have harnessed the power of automation and AI to revolutionise complex, high-volume processes, demonstrating exceptional efficiency and operational integrity.

Driving Automation in the Fast Lane

Weelee was honoured for implementing a ground-breaking vehicle verification engine built on the Salesforce platform. This solution, spearheaded by Chief Technology Officer, Hennie Nel, utilised Apex, API integrations, Flows orchestration, and AI scoring models to predict fraud risk and automatically vet both buyers and vehicle data.

The judges highlighted the extraordinary results of the automation effort, stating:

“This comprehensive automation effort resulted in automation of over 80% of listings end-to-end. Most impressively, Weelee reduced manual intervention by 70% and cut the average verification time from 24 hours to just 10 minutes. Weelee’s story is a textbook example of exactly what automation should accomplish. They proved that by applying sophisticated AI and automation tools to high-volume, bottleneck processes, organisations can rapidly scale without compromising trust or operational integrity.”

Commitment to Trust and Efficiency

Weelee’s core business is built on empowering over 180 000 motorists to buy, sell, and trade-in used cars with confidence. The award-winning verification engine, a core project overseen by CTO Hennie Nel, is central to this commitment, ensuring every transaction is secure and efficient.

“Winning the Salesforce Automation Ace Award is a tremendous honour and a powerful validation of our commitment to innovation,” said Errol Levin, CEO of Weelee South Africa. “In the used-car market, trust and speed are paramount. By deeply integrating sophisticated AI and automation into our platform, we have not only achieved massive operational efficiencies but, more importantly, we have dramatically elevated the security and speed of service for every single customer. This technology is a game-changer, allowing us to scale rapidly while delivering world-class service our customers can depend on.”

Weelee offers wholesale pricing, expert VIN and history checks, independent condition reports, nationwide convenience, and innovative partnerships like the Discovery Insure Vitality Car Rating—a South African first that rewards safe drivers with up to 15% higher resale value. The new verification engine solidifies the company’s position as a technology leader dedicated to a quick, safe, and easy process for all users.
