Wings Over Winelands Airshow Brings Aviation Action to Vergelegen Wine Estate

7 May 2026 by Con Tributor

The highly anticipated Wings Over Winelands Airshow will take to the skies on 16 May 2026 at the iconic Vergelegen Wine Estate, promising a spectacular day of aviation excellence, family entertainment and world-class hospitality in the heart of the Cape Winelands.

Set against the backdrop of one of South Africa’s most scenic wine estates, the event will bring together aviation enthusiasts, families and visitors for a full day of thrilling aerial displays and ground experiences.

This year’s flying programme will run from 10:00 to 15:00 and will feature an exciting line-up including the Marksman Aerobatic Display Team, the Raptors RV Display Team, the Aérospatiale Gazelle and the iconic Aero L-29 Delfín jet display. These acts will showcase a mix of precision aerobatics, formation flying and fast jet performance.

Commentary for the event will be provided by Ian Fraser, who will guide spectators through the flying programme and provide insight into the aircraft, pilots and manoeuvres throughout the day.

Beyond the flying displays, visitors can enjoy premium wine tasting, gourmet food offerings, craft stalls and family-friendly entertainment throughout the estate. The combination of aviation and Winelands hospitality continues to make this one of South Africa’s most unique lifestyle airshow experiences.

The 2026 event is proudly supported by Nedbank, Hatfield Motor Group and Erinvale Estate Hotel and Spa, whose partnership helps bring this premium aviation and lifestyle experience to life.

Organisers have confirmed that gates will open early to allow guests to enjoy the full programme of activities. Safety and professional airshow operations remain a top priority, with experienced coordination teams ensuring a smooth and world-class event.

Wings Over Winelands continues to grow as a highlight on the South African aviation calendar, attracting visitors from across the country while promoting tourism and local enterprise in the Cape Winelands.

Tickets are available via Quicket.
