Acting on a tip off, members of Operation Lockdown III confiscated two firearms, drugs worth R191 100.00, ammunition and R20 580 cash in Woodlands on Monday 13 April 2026.
The members were patrolling around Woodlands in Mitchells Plain at about 20:30, when they received a tip off about drugs stored at an address in Swallow Road, Woodlands. They immediately followed up on the information and found a 36-year-old female and a 23-year-old male at the house. During the search, members uncovered a yellow plastic bag containing 1500 mandrax tablets, 625 sachets of cocaine and 30 sachets of crystal meth in the ceiling. There was a second plastic bag with two pistols, one of which was without a serial number. A further search resulted in the discovery of 186 rounds of ammunition, R20 580-00 cash and R5 460-00 collection receipts.
The 36-year-old gang affiliated female was arrested alongside her 23-year-old husband for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of drugs and dealing in drugs. Both suspects will appear at the Mitchells Plain Magistrate’s court once they have been charged.
