WESTERN CAPE – Anti-Gang Unit members arrested a 32-year-old male suspect for two counts of attempted murder and firearm related offences at a flat in Roodewal on Tuesday, 08 September 2026.
The police followed up on intelligence after a shooting that occurred on Monday night. They arrived at the suspect’s home at around 09:30 and conducted a search, which led to the discovery of a .38 Special revolver with six rounds of ammunition and a handmade zip gun buried in the ground.
He was arrested for attempted murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.
The team proceeded to a house in Tambay Street, Roodewal where they found a 9mm pistol without a serial number and eight rounds of ammunition. A female suspect aged 32 was arrested for possession of a prohibited firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.
Both suspects will appear in the Worcester Magistrate’s Court, once they have been charged.
