The DHL Stormers’ spectacular try against Scarlets which was finished by Deon Fourie has been voted the Try of the Season, while flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu has been voted SA Vodacom URC Player of the season.
Fourie’s finish against Scarlets has been voted Try of the Season following a social media vote by URC fans.
The experienced loose forward finished a stunning team effort against the Scarlets, full of offloads dummies and sizzling footwork throughout.
There were 10 tries in total nominated, with Fourie beating some stiff competition to the award.
Feinburg-Mngomezulu was named this year’s South African Vodacom URC Player of the Season following another fantastic campaign.
The award was open to any player from one of the four South African franchises, and forms part of the annual SA Rugby Awards, with the winner determined by votes from the South African media, the four South African club coaches/director of rugby, and Springbok head coach, Rassie Erasmus.
A total of 17 players from all four SA clubs received votes, with Feinberg-Mngomezulu coming out on top.
The 23-year-old been central to the DHL Stormers’ attacking threat this season, and finished joint-fifth on the list for most points scored at the conclusion of the league phase of the competition, despite missing the start of the season through injury.
