Western Cape Human Settlements Minister, Tertuis Simmers, calls upon Professional Service Providers (PSP’s) in the built and related environments, to submit bids, to participate in a Framework Agreement with his Department.
Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs ), women and youth working within the built-environment space are particularly encouraged to tender their services for upcoming projects within the Western Cape.
The PSP Framework, which opened on 6 November 2020, seeks to establish an agreement with PSP’s, whose services will be procured through a fair and competitive process. The Framework Agreement is effective from 1 April 2021 and is applicable for a 3-year period.
Businesses encouraged to participate includes, but is not limited to, those offering:
- Architectural Services
- Civil Engineering
- Project Management
- Cost management (quantity surveying)
- Health and Safety agency
- Environmental compliance monitoring
- Environmental impact assessment
- Alternative Building Technology solutions
- Planning and Town Planning
“The impact of COVID has been felt by many businesses this year – many have unfortunately not survived its challenges. Through this invitation, the Department hopes to provide as many people as possible with opportunities for empowerment, growth and job creation. This is an excellent opportunity for our local businesses to not only tap into available opportunities, but also be part of re-building our province. Historically disadvantaged individuals (HDIs), women and our youth are particularly encouraged to participate”, said Minister Simmers.
Interested bidders must be registered and verified on the Central Supplier Database (CSD), Construction and Industry Development Board (CIDB), SARS, have a Tax Compliance Certificate, and be registered with applicable professional bodies, as and if relevant to particular services.
Businesses who are not currently registered and verified can still bid, but must be registered and verified by the closing date of the tender. No contract will be concluded with any business that is not registered and verified on the Databases.
Bid documents can immediately be collected from the Department’s offices in Cape Town or George in the Western Cape. Businesses can also request an electronic copy of the documents by emailing simthandile.july@westerncape.gov.za.
The closing date for receipt of bids is Friday 4 December 2020, at 11h00. The physical address for the submission of bid documents is Ground floor, Western Cape Department of Humans Settlements, 27 Wale Street, Cape Town, or 2nd Floor, Department of Human Settlements, York Park Building, York Street, George.
A non-compulsory clarification meeting with representatives of the Western Cape Department of Human Settlements will take place at 10h00 on Monday, 16 and Tuesday, 17 November 2020 at 27 Wale Street, Cape Town, 8000, Boardroom 702. Interested parties should only attend on one of these days.
