Eben Marais, the current National Operations Manager, Hospitality, of Ankerdata will take on the role of Director of Operations for the group on 1 July 2015. The position will involve taking over the day to day running of the business dealing directly with new and existing clients on a one to one basis to ensure smooth transitions into the protel fold, ensuring professional backup service and speedy resolutions, and as well as crisis management.
A great sense of humour and love of life is what Eben brings to the table, and along with his passion for the industry, hard work and dedication has seen him move rapidly through the ranks at Ankerdata.
After matriculating from President High School he went on to complete an Advance City and Guilds International Hotel Management Diploma at Tygerberg Hotel School. His career began as a Trainee Manager at the school assisting with the first years, and after a brief stint in the family construction business decided hospitality was where his interests lay. So, he oversaw events and was Duty Manager at Devonvale Golf and Wine Estate, and found himself at Ankerdata a year later as a software consultant with quick promotions to Sales Manager and now National Operations Manager.
