The third print edition of the Cape Town Green Map, which encourages the public to live and ‘play’ more sustainably and to make ‘greener’ lifestyle choices, is now available. Building on the strengths of the previous two print editions, this free map provides residents and visitors with an easy-to-use reference guide to a selection of Cape Town’s favourite ‘green’ options.
“The third edition of the map also highlights some of the City’s initiatives aimed at reducing our carbon footprint – both as individuals and as communities – including waste and recycling drop-off facilities, public transport options, the Smart Living Handbook for practical sustainability tips in the home and the Climate Smart Cape Town campaign that brings the climate change message to the residents of Cape Town,” says Executive Mayor De Lille, who is featured on the cover setting a fine example by riding a bicycle.
The Sustainable Seafood Initiative (SASSI), Shark Spotter Programme and Blue Flag Beaches are featured on the map, as are the City’s nature reserves, parks, gardens, beaches and the iconic Table Mountain National Park.
