Devon Wild, NSRI St Helena Bay station commander, said: At 12h48, Sunday, 12 April, NSRI St Helena Bay duty crew were activated following a request for assistance from a local 5 meter fishing craft, with 2 crew onboard, local fishermen, reporting engine failure 3 nautical miles offshore of Sandy Point Lighthouse, St Helena Bay.
Our NSRI rescue craft Rotary Onwards was launched and on arrival on the scene a towline was established and without incident we towed the craft with both fishermen onboard safely to St Helena Bay Harbour and after their craft was recovered they required no further assistance.
