The Ethical Agency Earns B Corp Certification With 111.7 Impact Score

1 April 2026 by Con Tributor

South African digital agency joins a global community committed to verified social and environmental performance – scoring significantly above the global median.

CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA: The Ethical Agency (TEA), a Cape Town-based creative and digital agency specialising in sustainability and ESG communications, today announced it has officially achieved B Corp Certification. The agency received an Overall B Impact Score of 111.7, which is notably higher than the 80 points required for certification and more than double the global median score of 50.9 recorded for evaluated businesses.

The certification, awarded by B Lab, recognises companies that meet rigorous standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability. Achieving a score of 111.7 distinguishes TEA as one of the higher-performing digital agencies to be certified on the African continent, reflecting its long-standing commitment to transparent and socially responsible business practices.

“Earning B Corp certification is a clear validation of the framework we have built at The Ethical Agency since 2017,” said Brett Jefferson, Founder & CEO of TEA. “It confirms that our approach of balancing purpose with professional excellence is meeting high international standards”.

Raising the Bar for Digital Sustainability

The B Impact Assessment evaluates companies across five key areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. TEA’s score of 111.7 reflects a strong performance across all pillars, demonstrating that responsible business practices can coexist with commercial success and high-quality creative output.
As part of its commitment to digital sustainability, TEA is currently recognised by The Green Web Foundation as a verified provider of 100% renewable energy-powered website hosting. This specific focus on clean technology ensures that the digital infrastructure provided to their clients is powered by renewable sources.

What Certification Means for Clients and Partners

For organisations seeking a creative partner that prioritises social and environmental impact, TEA’s B Corp status provides independent, third-party assurance of its operational ethics. This alignment makes the agency a natural fit for NGOs, UN agencies, and forward-thinking businesses navigating the complexities of ESG reporting and sustainable communications.

The Ethical Agency invites current and prospective partners to explore collaboration opportunities that prioritise impact. For more information on TEA’s certification and services, please visit ethical-agency.com
