One of the latest additions to the selection of Cape Town’s must-visit rooftop hangout spots is the Mountain Club rooftop. A hidden gem tucked away at the top of the magical staircase of the Cloud9 Boutique Hotel & Spa offering 360 degree views of Table Mountain and the city.

The double level restaurant boasts a plunge pool for visitors and an open-air upper level with maximum ventilation for responsible social distancing while all Covid-19 safety protocols are strictly followed by staff.

The Mountain Club rooftop is open for hotel guests and non-resident guests. Instantly recognisable with an Instagrammable touch, guests can look forward to sipping cocktails or bubbly and a variety of mouth-watering, breakfast, tapa’s and sushi dishes. This rooftop restaurants casual setting and open-air ambience is a favourite for all who visit.

Alain Fredericks, Head Chef describes the menu as modern contemporary style of cuisine with some classical Mediterranean tapas dishes. Fredricks who has been involved in conceptualising of the menu, has also worked as head chef at some of Cape Town’s well-known restaurants such Jarryd’s Eatery, The Lawns (The Glen) and the eateries at D’Aria Wine Estate.

The eclectic décor is brought to life with the use of colour accents from pinks & greens. The space is softening with plants that can breathe fresh air into the spaces. The semi-covered rooftop has a dining and lounging area, making it the perfect day or night-time spot.
A venue is ideal for cocktail functions, corporate events, social gatherings and simply just relaxing at the end of a long working day. The plunge pool is on perfect for a hot summer afternoon with a wide selection of cocktails from the bar.
