The City is calling on all South Africans and visitors to become activists in the campaign to gather enough votes for Table Mountain to be officially chosen as a new 7 Wonder of Nature.Our beloved mountain is one of only 28 natural sites from around the globe shortlisted for this honour, and is currently sitting in the bottom 14 of the chosen 28. But with your help, we can turn that around…
Becoming an activist for the Table Mountain campaign will mean raising awareness everywhere, and getting more people to vote and secure Table Mountain and South Africa’s position on the Top 7 list.
An independent impact report conducted in March 2011 by Grant Thornton, a leading tourism hospitality and leisure research company, has predicted a R1.4 billion annual tourism bonanza for South Africa if Table Mountain is named one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
Furthermore, voting for Table Mountain means that for thousands of years to come, children will be learning about it as one of the New7Wonders of Nature. The mountain and South Africa will forever have a place in the history books of the world.
Anyone can become an activist by encouraging their friends and family to vote as many times as possible for the New7Wonders campaign.
