Terror Fanteni is back in the fold and that is the word from the Ajax Cape Town coach Maarten Stekelenburg.
The Ajax striker was asked to train on his own after he returned from the mid-season break a little over-weight, and this did not make a good impression on the Ajax technical team.
The player knuckled down, training on his own and after losing the excess weight he found himself back on the training field with his team mates.
Stekelenburg was first to compliment the player on his work ethic and commitment.
He said, “When Terror was asked to train on his own and loose the excess weight, he immediately set about regaining the form that made him one of the most feared strikers in South Africa.
He worked hard on his own and I have nothing but praise for the player, in fact I complimented him in the dressing room after practise today. He showed us that he is committed to this team and that his work-ethic is without question.
Terror is fit and sharp, however he needs game time so he will travel with the squad to Durban ahead of the Nedbank Cup fixture. We are playing four games in the next ten days and his return to the squad enhances our options up-front.”
