Critical Electricity Maintenance in Langa Area

2 April 2026 by Con Tributor

The City of Cape Town advises Langa residents of an upcoming critical electricity supply interruption for infrastructure maintenance, which will be carried out on Tuesday, 7 April 2026. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused while the essential maintenance is being carried out.

Please note that the interruption to supply will only impact the areas on the maps and only on the relevant dates.

The work will be carried out from 08:00 to 18:00, if all goes to plan. The maintenance will be carried out on:

  • Tuesday, 7 April 2026: Bhunga Avenue, Haarlem and Papu Square substations

Importantly:

The electricity supply could be restored at any time and customers must please treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration of the planned maintenance work. Residents are encouraged to switch off appliances as a precaution to avoid damage caused by power surges when the power comes back on. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks residents for their cooperation.
